Chili Pepper (Jalapeño, Black Magic)

Jalapeños are the Swiss Army knives of the pepper world - they can add gentle heat to just about any dish, they make a mean base for many a green sauce, they can be pickled by the peck, you can put cheese in jalapeños or jalapeños in cheese. Just don't try to open a wine bottle with them, because, like a Swiss Army knife, it'll just end up making a mess. 2,500 to 8,000 Scoville. Plant 12-18" apart.
