A more disease-resistant variety of the San Marzano commonly used in commercial tomato sauce, it has a vibrant red color and its 4-6 ounce fruit peel and cook down quickly. San Marzano dates to the 1950s, where it was developed for Italy's canning industry. Smaller than Amish Paste, but just as flavorful. Indeterminate. Plant 24" apart.
